MCP Training

Has your match been identified as part of the Mentoring Children of Promise program? It was originally named “Mentoring Children of Prisoners,” and in our newest grant it has been renamed to reflect our hopes for these children.

As part of the new grant, we will be offering additional training courses and resources to our mentors. We would like to start off simple, with a basic, on-line course entitled, “Working With Children of Incarcerated Parents”: http://members.mcpsupport.com/Lists/OnDemand%20Courses/AllItems.aspx

The course is about 30 minutes long, and at the end, after a short quiz, you will be able to type in your name and the date and print a certificate of completion. Please return a copy of the certificate to the agency (via email, fax, mail, or calling your Match Support Specialist). Thank you!

“These children have committed no crime, but the price they
are forced to pay is steep. They forfeit, too, much of what
matters to them: their homes, their safety, their public status
and private self-image, their primary source of comfort and
affection. Their lives are profoundly affected . . .”
